American football doesn’t get any better than Southeastern Conference (SEC) competitions in the minds of many sports fans. Games are always exciting and full of powerhouse plays that keep audiences entranced until the last minute of the fourth quarter.A few weeks ago the big college national championship title contest was held between Alabama’s Crimson Tide and the Texas Longhorns at the Rose Bowl in California. The Tide was working on a perfect season. The team had won 12 regular season games and then the SEC championship game. All that was left was to beat the Longhorns and walk away with the National Championship trophy.
In Alabama, football promotional clothing is worn with pride. The Tide’s colors are white and crimson. T-shirts are emblazoned with Alabama or Roll-Tide-Roll. When the Crimson Tide won the National Championship title the shirts couldn’t be printed fast enough for a state full of adoring fans. Literally within hours of the win the Alabama shirts were sold out of shirts. The university sponsoring the team is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and within a day there were 60,000 shirts sold.
Printed t-shirts, printed sweatshirts, printed hats, banners, flags, printed sweaters , billboards, and shop window signs all proclaimed the Tide had rolled over the Longhorns for a perfect 14-0 season.
The University of Alabama has waited since 1992 for another national championship win. Under the tutelage of Coach Nick Saban, the team performed in an outstanding manner. Now the question is: Can they do it again next football season? As Alabama fans proudly wear their printed tees and hoodies, you can see the glints in their eyes. Those glints reflect the secret desires for two national championship titles in a row. Can it be done? Roll! Tide! Roll!
