Next week will see the 11th edition of Bridal Asia, an annual wedding extravaganza. Some of Indian fashions finest designers will be showing off their creations at the show, which is to be held in Delhi. Fashion shows will be held on January 10 and 11, and talent new and old will be displayed from January 13 to 15.
Twenty-six young designers are to be part of Bridal Asia 2007. Designers are due to appear from Mumbai, Calcutta, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow and Bangalore. One of the Calcutta designers, Abhshek Dutta, is showing designs for both the bride and groom, and their new married home.
The home furnishings in his range include bedspreads, pillowcases, table linen, cushions and cushion covers. Featuring mainly metallic colours, with copper, silver and gold emphasis, the collection foil prints and leather patches.
Dutta’s bridal line focuses on saris, for which pleats play an important role. Many styles of sari are to be shown by the designer, including kalidaar saris, ‘fanpalla’ saris and sheer net saris worn over lehngas. Swarovski crystal decorates the lehngas, and many feature pleated borders. Pastel colours are the main choice with Dutta’s collection of bridal wear, with powder blue, beige, peach, ivory and pistachio all making an appearance. These colours are accented with red and shocking pink, and pearls, hand embroidery and Swarovski crystals decorating the clothes. A variety of fabrics are used; velvet, suede, nets and georgettes feature heavily.
Dutta is also showing men’s wear, and western cut, antique finished sherwanis and prince coats make up the main part of his men’s collection. Dull magenta and peach shades feature heavily, but are contrasted with embroidery, Swarovski crystal and pearls, much the same as his bridal lines.

the chance to review the image is great for checking everything over one last time before printing. the time between reviewing the print and delivery was another positive, taking only a couple of days. my friends were really pleased with the finished items. unfortunately i was out when the courier called. he didn't note the date or time of his attempted delivery on his card and he hadn't filled in when or if he would attempt delivery again. on repeatedly phoning the company on a friday between 4:50 and 6 i got no answer. i then tried again on the monday morning, but once again i got no answer. after phoning clothes2order they resolved everything. i realise this is outwith the control of clothes2order, but it soured an otherwise excellent service.
Delighted with the results. Very popular so repeat orders very likely.
great service, no problems at all
