Alexander McQueen T-Shirts Promote Charity

Alexander McQueen T-Shirts Promote CharityThe designer Alexander McQueen took his own life this past February, and the fashion world went into mourning. Considered to be one of the finest and most talented designers in the industry, McQueen was sometimes edgy but always displayed his love of the theatrical.

Recently, commemorative t-shirts were created by through collaboration between HintMag and Christopher Lee Sauvé and Rachel Zoe-inspired "Bananas" tees. The tees are meant to honor the late designer with graphics that include his face overlaid on a mourning cross and surrounded by roses. The printed t-shirts serve a dual purpose though. They honor the designer but sales also support the designer’s favorite charity. Thirty (30) percent of each sale of the Long Live McQueen t-shirts will be donated to the HIV/AIDS charity named the Terrence Higgins Trust.

McQueen’s last collection was recently displayed at a Paris fashion show and the event did not get the usual fanfare that accompanies the displaying of new fashions. This show was somber to mark the passing of a fashion artist. McQueen’s last collection for Fall 2010 was inspired by the Old Masters painting. The clothes are made in autumn colors reminiscent of changing leaves and there is the familiar theatrical touch.

There has been much speculation as to who would replace McQueen but the Chief Executive Jonathan Akeroyd said, “We've been really focusing on this, on finishing the collection, we haven't been thinking beyond that. In the next few weeks, we are going to be working on the way ahead, but we've just really been concentrating on this presentation," he said.

Anyone who would like to show their sadness over the loss of one of fashion’s best designers would best do so by purchasing promotional clothing that supports his favorite charity.
