Uniforms Plentiful on Holiday

Uniforms and promotional clothing let others know what you do for a living. People who work in factories, hotels, warehouses, offices and so many other places wear t-shirts and polo shirts with the company name or corporate logo embroidered on them. Some people wear full uniforms with matching pants and shirts. Hospital workers, delivery personnel and others wear these kinds of outfits.

On May 31 in the United States though it was military uniforms of all types that could be found. Memorial Day honors all military personnel that gave their lives for their country. On Marco Island, the celebration brought out all types of uniforms too. The people living on the island paid tribute to a wide range of soldiers that have served over the last 250 years. They were uniforms representing the Navy and the Army and the Air Force. But there were also uniforms from the Coast Guard, the police and even the Boy Scots. The soldiers from the American Revolution, foreign wars, World War I and II and many others were shown appreciation throughout the day’s festivities.

Uniforms enable others to quickly identify a person. On Marco Island, Dr. Philip Ballou is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. When he wore his Revolutionary War uniform everyone instantly knew what soldier and what war he represented. The unique uniform was more complicated than the ones worn today though. It had a lace collar and waistcoat for example.

Through the years uniforms and promotional clothing have given people a sense of unity and of purpose. It has always been that way and probably always will be. If you want to unify your employees and develop loyalty then take a lesson from the military….military clothing that is!
