On July 17 the Young Designer Show will take place at the Cockpit Theatre in London. This show will be hosted by familiar names like Annaliese Dayes and W. Livingston Gilchrist. This show was created by Joanna Marcella who is a knitwear designer. Intended to give young designers a public forum for their innovative designs, it hosts designers as young as 13 years old. Most of the young designers though are in fashion school and are over 18 years old. This fashion show for young would-be professional designers will also showcase the award winning collections of young designers participating in the 2009 Fashion Designers and Craft Makers event held in 2009. What can you expect to see at the Young Designer Show 2010? You can probably expect to see an eclectic collection of skirts, dresses, pants, vests and printed t-shirts. Of course, if you are thinking of staid ordinary styles then you need to think outside the box. These fashions may include crystals, zippers where you don’t expect zippers, flashing lights, unusual materials and more.
This is a fun show where unusual fashions are encouraged, but that doesn’t mean the established styles of big design houses are ignored. Designers like Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton and many others inspired the young designers to try their hand at fashion design. It’s a dazzling show where you will spot many of the successful fashion designers selling in the fashion industry. One of the exciting features of the show for young designers is that they get to work with professionals from all aspect of the fashion industry including make-up artists and hair stylists. They also get to see their designs on the bodies of catwalk models working for major design houses.
If you want to see what is coming in the future in the way of dresses, sweaters, embroidered shirts, skirts, shoes, handbags and more then you need to attend the Young Designer Show 2010.
