Some people believe the use of uniforms is a Western concept, but they are used by companies and governments around the world. Uniforms can play an important role in promoting business professionalism to the public. They are neat looking and add an air of commitment to the staff performance. There are so many advantages to staff wearing uniforms it is not surprising that more and more businesses and government agencies are requiring their use.Recently the Mayor of Amman announced that over 200 health and vocations inspectors would begin wearing brown uniforms in various areas of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM). Amman is in the capital city of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Mayor mentioned several reasons for adding the uniforms. First is the fact the uniforms reflect quality of staff and service. Second the uniforms add a feeling of trustworthiness. Also mentioned was the fact the uniforms will improve the image of the staff and the inspection agency.
The health and vocations inspectors have important jobs in the city. They are responsible for working towards preserving public health and promoting safety. The new uniforms will be promotional clothing because the GAM logo will be printed on the shirts. The job title will also be printed on the shirt. Blue printing will be used for the health inspectors and brown printing for the vocations’ supervisors. This will make it easy for the public to identify the inspectors and will limit opportunities for impersonation. The inspectors review safety conditions and hazard systems in a variety of industries. These industries include public health, food, handicrafts and many others. The inspectors also promote the rules to over 90,000 businesses.
Uniforms are growing in popularity among businesses around the world. That’s not surprising though because there are really no disadvantages to wearing uniforms.
