A Smarter Uniform Solution for Freightroute

As one of the UK's largest independent pallet distribution companies, Freightroute needed a workwear partner that could support a growing workforce, multiple depot locations and demanding operational requirements. By moving to Clothes2order, they were able to simplify uniform management, improve supply reliability and reduce costs, all while maintaining the professional standards their teams are known for.

"Clothes2Order made the transition simple from start to finish. The quality of the clothing, reliability of supply and flexibility of the ordering portal have been a real benefit for our depots. We've reduced costs, improved consistency and received great feedback from employees across the business."

- Shaun, Freightroute

About Freightroute

Freightroute is one of the UK's largest independent pallet distribution companies, delivering more than 3,500 pallets every day through a network of depots spanning from Eastleigh to Falkirk.

As a family run business employing over 450 people and operating a fleet of more than 200 vehicles, maintaining a professional appearance and providing suitable workwear across multiple locations is essential to their operation.

  • Industry: Pallet Distribution & Logistics
  • Employees: Over 450 staff
  • How We Help: Custom Branded Workwear, PPE & Uniform Management
  • Network: Depots across the UK, from Eastleigh to Falkirk
  • Scale: Over 3,500 pallets delivered daily and 800,000 handled annually

The Challenge

Freightroute was looking for a single supplier that could provide both custom branded workwear and essential PPE while maintaining quality standards and keeping costs under control.

Before partnering with Clothes2Order, the business was working with multiple suppliers, creating unnecessary complexity and inconsistency across its depot network.

They were also experiencing significant delays with their previous uniform provider, with some orders taking months to fulfil due to limited stock availability and a restricted product range.

With employees spread across the UK and new starters regularly joining the business, Freightroute needed a more reliable solution that could deliver garments quickly, consistently and at a competitive price point.

How Clothes2Order Helped

Consolidated Multiple Suppliers

We replaced a fragmented supplier network with a single, reliable source for branded workwear and PPE, simplifying procurement and administration.

Created a Bespoke Ordering Portal

We developed a tailored online portal that allows individual depots to place orders while providing centralised oversight for head office.

Improved Product Availability

Our extensive product range and robust supply chain ensured greater stock availability and reduced the risk of prolonged delays.

Delivered Tailored Product Selection

Instead of limiting Freightroute to a restricted range, we helped identify the most suitable garments for comfort, durability, safety and day to day wear.

Refreshed Their Brand Identity

Working closely with the team, we helped develop and apply a new embroidered logo, creating a smarter and more consistent look across the workforce.

Supported a Smooth Rollout

From product trials through to nationwide implementation, our team provided ongoing support and guidance, ensuring a seamless transition across all depots.

The Outcome

Today, Freightroute benefits from a streamlined uniform management process supported by a dedicated corporate team, online ordering portal, reliable fulfilment and a significantly broader choice of garments. The combination of improved service levels, stronger stock availability and ongoing account support has allowed the business to maintain a consistent professional image across its nationwide workforce while reducing administrative burden for depot managers. As the company continues to grow, Clothes2order remains a trusted partner, providing the flexibility, product choice and dependable service needed to support an expanding operation.

Key Results

Reduced Uniform Costs

By consolidating suppliers and introducing a more efficient ordering process, Freightroute achieved ongoing savings of around 6% while maintaining the quality and performance standards required across its workforce.

Faster, More Reliable Supply

Long delays became a thing of the past. Improved stock availability, express delivery and dependable lead times ensured employees received the clothing and PPE they needed without disruption.

Increased Staff Satisfaction

The new branded workwear was well received across the business, helping employees feel part of a unified team while creating a more professional appearance across every depot.

Why the Portal Matters

Managing uniform and PPE across multiple depots can be time consuming, particularly when different locations need regular access to approved products.

That's why we created a bespoke ordering portal for Freightroute, giving individual depots the freedom to place orders when needed while allowing head office to maintain visibility and control. The result is a simpler ordering process, reduced administration and a more consistent approach to workwear management across the business.
